Retail Prices
Publishers dictate the retail price for their books. On some texts and professional titles, publishers do not print this price on the back cover as they wish to allow booksellers to raise the retail price higher than the suggested retail. We do NOT engage in this practice, and fortunately, most other online booksellers do not either. That said, the publishers of these types of titles do increase their retail prices periodically - usually in May and November of each year, but sometimes even more frequently. Large online booksellers usually receive automated ftp feeds from the publishing houses, and therefore, publisher price increases go into effect immediately. Not so with us. You can often find our retail prices for text and professional titles far below that of other online sellers due to the way our system works. On very rare occasions, publishers will actually decrease the suggested retail of a book. In these instances, our retail price is probably going to be (temporarily) more expensive as our system isn't as automated - but again, this is very, very rare. Of course, if we learn of the new, lower price, we'll adjust ours with alacrity.
Discounts
Our professional and text titles are always discounted at least 5%. Most other online sellers charge full retail for these types of books as our discount from the publisher is extremely low. Books classified as "trade" titles are deeply discounted on our site. While our customers have expressed a desire for Easy of Use, Speedy Delivery, and a Large Selection, we know that saving a dollar is still important!
Coupons
Once in a great while, we will partner with a company for a particular promotion. Or, we may send a coupon in the mail to loyal customers. If you receive such a coupon, take note of the discount code and enter this into Page 4 of the Shopping Cart when placing your order.
Special Sales
Almost all publishers have a department for "special sales". We do too. If you are purchasing in bulk, or have an out-of-the-ordinary need, please call or email us. We will always try to cater to your particular needs. Try us!
Sales Tax
In accordance with applicable state law, we are required to charge 8.25% sales tax for purchases shipped to the state of Texas.
